Faculty Spotlight~ Ms. Amber Stephens

Ms. Stephens is a licensed teacher who has previously taught at other schools in Asia and in the United States. Ms. Stephens graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance with a degree in music and education in 2011. She trained as an opera singer for 6 years and has been considered a professional musician for over a decade. Her goal for the students this year is to help them do their best and try as hard as they can. Ms. Stephens likes AST because students have access to resources, there are lots of extracurricular activities, and her students come to her classroom eager to learn every day. Ms. Stephens likes to be a teacher because she thinks building relationships with students and helping them think about various perspectives is essential. Her motivation for coming to Taiwan was to observe the different instructional strategies used in Asia and to understand Taiwan’s educational systems. 

Ms. Amber Stephens 是五年級教師，她以前擔任過其他小學的教師，同時也曾經是歌劇女高音。Ms.Stephens 於 2011年從音樂學院畢業，她也接受過六年的古典歌劇女高音訓練，是一位專業的音樂家。她今年給學生的目標就是希望他們盡力做到最好，付出最大的努力。Ms. Stephens覺得AST的學生有很多資源、能參與不同的活動，每天都開開心心的來求學。Ms. Stephens很喜歡當老師，因為她覺得與學生建立關係並幫助他們思考各種觀點，是非常的重要的。她來台灣的動機就是想學習更多在亞洲教書的方法，也想瞭解台灣的學制。
